The Pella City Council will focus on zoning ordinances at their meeting this evening. Two public hearings will be held: one will be the first reading of an ordinance to define and establish permitted zoning districts for commercial event land uses, and the other will be a rezoning application for property located near 2110 Idaho Drive into a Planned Unit Development. Council will also consider resolutions approving a preliminary plat for the South Main Subdivision and housing development at the old Webster Elementary site, as well as a three year hotel-motel tax revenue agreement with the Pella Convention and Visitors Bureau. A second reading of an ordinance increasing compensation paid to the mayor and council is also on the agenda. The Pella City Council meeting begins at 7 p.m. this evening in the Pella Public Safety Complex.
