Turning in one of the day’s top rounds in a field of NCAA Division I foes, the Central College men’s golf squad climbed into a tie for sixth place in the nine-team Cape Fear National Intercollegiate Monday. Rhode Island took the 54-hole, two-day tourney at the challenging par-72, 7,217-yard Cape Fear National course. Central shot 326-323-316—965 to share sixth with North Dakota. Central’s Zach Hansen carded an 83-76-78–237 for 21st place in the 51-player field while Nick Walker was 24th at 81-84-75—240. Central begins the northern portion of its schedule March 29-30 at the Jim Wetherbee Memorial Invitational in Galesburg, Illinois.
