Current Central College wrestler and former Pleasantville Trojan Griffen McBride was recently recognized by the American Rivers Conference for his work in the classroom.

The sophomore was one of five Dutch winter sport athletes selected to the all-academic team. To qualify for the distinction, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in academic standing with one year at his/her current school, achieve a 3.5 GPA or better, and compete at the varsity level. McBride accomplished the feat with a 3.8 GPA with a major undeclared.

McBride had three tournament titles this past winter for the Dutch at 184 lbs and finished 7th at the NCAA Division III Lower Midwest Regional.
