
Central College landed five student-athletes on the winter sports American Rivers Conference all-academic team Tuesday.
The Dutch wrestling team had three members earn the recognition, including Tanner Zimmerman and Jeremy Scheuermann who both earned the award for the second time. Zimmerman has a 3.99 GPA as a biology and Spanish double major while Scheuermann has a 3.61 GPA with an exercise science major. Griffen McBride of Pleasantville was a first-time honoree.
Women’s basketball player Kristin Hubert and Sami Craig were both recognized for the first time.
To qualify for the distinction, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in academic standing with one year at his/her current school, achieve a 3.5 GPA or better and compete at the varsity level.
