The classic children’s story “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” will be performed in April by the Heritage Acting Troupe, which brings together homeschooled students for an opportunity to go on stage.

The show is based on the first book from C.S. Lewis’ classic Chronicles of Narnia series; the students have been rehearsing since late last year, gathering for a few hours every Monday to prepare for the show.

Emma Conrad is among the performers; she tells KNIA/KRLS News it’s an opportunity for them to get together and make friends with others their age.

“Oh, yeah, definitely; the kids are all great…by the end of the year, I think we’re all practically family, that is so much fun to come back together again and do something like this, get to hang out together and make memories,” Emma says.

Heritage Acting Troupe is the acting club for Heritage Home Educators, an area homeschool support group. The organization provides opportunities for its students to take classes, go on field trips and have fun activities together.

“The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” will be performed at the Living Word Fellowship in Knoxville on Friday, April 5th at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 6th at 2:00 p.m.
