Iowa Signal LLC out of Grimes began to upgrade the pedestrian signals and push-buttons on Highway 65/69 in Indianola last week. The project is primarily funded by a grant from IDOT. Once signals and buttons are installed, contractors will start installing the battery back-ups for the signal. The battery backup installation will cause traffic lights to go dark briefly, with stop signs put out during the outage. The City of Indianola tells KNIA News a timeline for outages has not yet been determined, but outages should be brief and not disrupt traffic.
