A man from Florida is facing charges in Marion County of money laundering, by way of ATM transactions at local stores.

32-year-old Rubier Pupo Ramirez of West Palm Beach faces two counts of money laundering last April at stores in Knoxville and Pella, as well as in Polk County.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office says he used a cloned debit card from the victim to make illegal transactions, all with the purpose of making the money seem legitimate.

Sheriff’s deputies reportedly saw store security video confirming his part in the transactions.

The warrant was issued last year, and Ramirez was taken into custody in Polk County on other charges; he was served there with the Marion County charges on Friday.

Ramirez is due in court on Thursday for a hearing.
