New equipment and a new floor have been installed in the weight room at Indianola High School, after money was raised by the Indianola Athletic Boosters and the school district. P.E. Teacher and Head Football Coach Eric Kluver tells KNIA News the new equipment includes a complete makeover of the room with new bars, clips, weights, all with the Indianola logo and style. Kluver also said the new equipment will help the athletic department a great deal, but it won’t magically make kids be better athletes or make them stronger, it takes a commitment.

“I think this is definitely going to spur some interest, and hopefully draw some kids in here who are interested about the new equipment and they want to be a part of it which is nice. But bottom line, it still takes a lot of hard work and it takes a lot of internal motivation to come in and improve your strength and athleticism with all of this nice new equipment.”

The floor was installed over spring break, with the weights coming in this week.
