Now that spring break is over for the Indianola Community School District, parents and students are reminded that early outs on Wednesday will no longer take place in 2019, to make up time that was lost due to weather cancellations. Originally, the school board approved extending the school year to June 3rd to make up for the lost hours, but further cancellations forced another change in the schedule. According to state law, each school district must have 1080 hours per school year, with the remaining 10 Wednesday’s on the schedule making up the difference. The school year now ends on May 31st.
