The Knoxville City Council is scheduled to discuss the creation of a rental inspection program during tonight’s meeting at City Hall.
State law permits cities to create their own housing code and method of enforcement; the intent is to ensure a safe living environment, improve and increase housing stock, and give the community a better general look.
If the council opts to go ahead with such a program, city staff would be asked to come up with a proposal to consider.
The Knoxville City Council meeting convenes at 6:15 p.m. and can be heard live on AM 1320/FM 94.3/FM 95.3 KNIA.
