A high school official based in Pella was recently inducted into the 2019 Class of the Iowa High School Athletic Association Officials Hall of Fame.
Myron Linn has been an official in football, baseball, and softball for more than 35 years, and his crew has called four football state titles and several postseason games. Linn says he’s honored to be inducted, and thankful for the many officials in Iowa who are key in keeping the integrity and sportsmanship of high school athletics alive and well in the state.
“I was just totally surprised that I was even being considered to be part of the Official’s Hall of Fame in the state of Iowa,” Linn says. “I’ve known some great officials that are part of the Hall of Fame, and it was hard for me to kind of put my name and face alongside of them, but it was a very exciting moment for me, and was just wonderful to look back and to say I’ve had 35 great years of working with wonderful officials–they are the ones who really helped me to get to where I was.”
