The Knoxville Girls track and field squad placed fifth in the PCM Invitational held at Simpson College in Indianola due to poor track conditions in Monroe. Knoxville had a couple gold medal performances as Abbey Jackson won the 100, she also placed second in the 400, and Katie Keitges breezed to the 1500 meter win. The Panthers got a third in both the 4×200 and 400 relays, a second in the 800 sprint medley and a third in the shuttle hurdle relay

The Knoxville Boys Golf Squad was second in a quad hosted by the Panthers. Knoxville shot a 179 which was 27 shots off of winner Pella. Carlisle was with a 198 and Clarke was fourth with a 204. Tyler Vaske led the Panthers with a 35. Coach Brian Barkey tells KNIA Sports the short game is big…while it may be boring to practice…he says the short game could be the different between winning or losing a meet. Knoxville is back at it Thursday with a trip to Pleasantville.

The Knoxville Girls Golf Squad finished second in a triangular on Tuesday hosting at Pine Knolls Country Club. The Panthers shot a 244…27 shots out of first place Carlisle. Clarke was third with a 262. Amy Sullivan was low scorer for the Panthers with a 57…which was fifth and only four off of medalist honors. Other Panther scores were: Faith Hatch 59, Maddi Graves 60, and Tierney Heffron 68.
