Many Hands for Haiti has announced that construction has begun on their campus for a new elementary school. The Sylvain Christian School of Light will complement the Yellow Iron School of Light preschool, currently in its third year of operation. Executive Leader of Many Hands for Haiti Tim Brand says the expansion continues a six-year relationship with the families they serve in Haiti, and represents a large step in expanding the programs they provide.
“This multi-year, multi-phase project is significant but fits perfectly into our organization's mission and vision of transformation and development,” stated Tim Brand, Executive Leader of Many Hands for Haiti. “We strongly believe the construction and implementation of this fundamental school will provide the children of the Sylvain community a great education and will provide numerous future opportunities in education, community leadership, and entrepreneurism.
Phase I has started and will include the construction of a three-pod school building structure and finishing classrooms, as well as identifying, hiring, and providing teacher training for new teachers. Hear more about the latest with the Pella-based non-profit on today’s Let’s Talk Pella.
