The Simpson Storm softball squad couldn’t complete the sweep against Loras Saturday afternoon, earning a sweep in a pair of games heard live on KNIA. In game one, the Storm took an early lead after a Kayla Reusche double in the first inning, but neither team could muster much offense after that. The Duhawks scored a pair of runs in the fifth, taking advantage of a pair of Storm errors, to put them ahead and force the Storm to play from behind. A two-run bottom of the sixth however put the Storm ahead for good, and they earned a 3-2 victory. In game two, the Duhawks got ahead early in the first with a 2 run inning and stayed there. The Storm cut the deficit down to one run several times, but Loras had an answer for every push, earning a 4-2 victory. Simpson falls to 2-4 in American Rivers Conference play, and play Grinnel College Tuesday.
