Both the Indianola boys and girls track and field team competed at Urbandale. The Indians finished in 6th place with 36 points, and the girls were second with 116 points. Top finishers on the boys side included Matt McKnight taking the top place in the high jump, Max Cleveland with a 4th place finish in the 110m hurdles, Eric Baldus 5th in the 3200m, Dayton Mays 3rd in the discus, and the 4×400 relay team placed 4th.
The girls fared well against some of the top teams in the state, with top finishers including Grace Gioffredi and Leah Blake placing 1st and 2nd in the 100m dash, Kassie Baker and Alivia Bauer placing 1st and 2nd discus, Bailey Blake 2nd in the 400m, Jadyn Forbes 3rd in the 800m, Ashley Rockhold 3rd in the 1500m, Hailey Seifrig 4th in the 3000m, Lauren Blake and Jadyn Forbes 4th and 5th in the long jump, Alivia Bauer 2nd in the shot put, the 4x100m and 4x800m relay team finished in 2nd, 4x200m and 4x00m finishing 3rd, and sprint medley placing 3rd.
The Indianola girls tennis team fell to Pella 9-2. Picking up the victories for the Indians included Anna Jordan at #5 singles, and the doubles pair of Allison Coffey and Hayden Lashasky at #5. The Indians will next play when they host Des Moines Lincoln tomorrow. The boys fell to the Little Dutch 10-1, earning a victory from Ian Smith at #4 singles in three sets. The Indians are now 2-2, and take on Southeast Polk on Monday.
The Indianola boys soccer team fell in a close contest with Little Hawkeye Conference rival Pella 2-1. The Indians struck first with a Carter Bussanmus goal in the 31st minute, but Pella tied it up in the first half, then struck early in the second to earn the victory. The girls soccer team fell to the Lady Dutch 10-0. The boys are now 0-4, and will next play against Pella Christian on Tuesday. The girls are now 1-3, and play Des Moines Lincoln tomorrow.
