The Knoxville Boys Golf Squad won the Albia meet on Tuesday with an 18 hole score of 341, 15 shots better then runner-up Albia. Tyler Vaske blazed the course with a four under 68 to earn medalist honors. Cade McDonald came in with an 82 while Ethan Murra carded a 91. Knoxville is in action again on Tuesday with a dual at Van Meter.
Knoxville Girls Golf Squad had a difficult task playing two premier programs at Warrior Run golf course on Tuesday afternoon. The Panthers finished third in a three team meet with Grinnell and Norwalk shooting a 229 with Grinnell blazing to a 172. Amy Sullivan was low scorer for Knoxville with a 52. Coach Barry Smith tells KNIA/KRLS Sports Sullivan, while only a sophomore is getting valuable experience playing with more experienced golfers each meet out. The Panthers head to Honey Creek on Thursday for a triangular with Moravia and Albia.
The Knoxville Girls Soccer squad fell to Des Moines Christian 4-1 on Tuesday. Raegan Cook was the lone Knoxville scorer with her first career varsity goal off an assist from Kelsey Ryan. Coach Matt Richhart told KNIA/KRLS Sports the girls played hard and competed well. Knoxville is now 1-2 on the season and will host West Central Valley on Thursday.
