Local emergency responders participated in the annual Fight for Air Climb this past weekend in Des Moines. The annual event is a fundraiser for the American Lung Association.This year, the climb included a total of 85 floors and 1796 steps. TJ Markley and Randy Reineke with the Pella Fire Department, Heather Reineke with Pella Ambulance, and Luke Roose with both organizations were the local participants. All four climbed the buildings individually this year, while wearing full turnout gear including a coat, pants, helmet, and air tank.
