In four weeks, the Pella community will celebrate the 84th annual Tulip Time. The event held by Pella Historical Society will run May 2nd through the 4th. As the Tulip Queen and Court travel Iowa to promote the festival to potential guests, the Tulip Time Steering Committee continues its work in organizing the event. Steering Committee Chair Valerie Huyser says several volunteers are preparing to welcome thousands of visitors to Pella, and she’s excited for residents and travelers alike to celebrate the community. Huyser is pulling extra duty this year; her daughter Camryn is one of the members of the Tulip Time Royal Court.
