The final performance in this year’s Bravo! Concert Series in Knoxville will feature a visiting children’s group who teach, and perform with, some of their peers in the local schools.

The Colorado Children’s Chorale will be on stage at the Knoxville Performing Arts Center on Thursday, April 25th at 7:00 p.m. They are stopping here as part of a cross-country tour; they will also be hosting workshops for students at West Elementary and Northstar Elementary, and some of those students will be invited to join them on stage during the evening’s performance.

Randy Flack from the Bravo! Concert Series tells KNIA/KRLS News he came across this chorale by accident two years ago, when he and his wife Donna were at an arts festival in Milwaukee.

“And we had taken, gotten on the bus to go to the Pabst Theater in Milwaukee; got out of the bus, and there was a single woman standing there and kind of looking around. And we said, ‘would you like to go to dinner with us?’ Well, it happened to be Cheryl Shoemaker, who works with the Colorado Children’s Chorale,” Flack says.

“And we had dinner with her and got information; we’ve kept in contact, and then this year we were able to schedule them to come to Knoxville.”

Flack says the show promises to be high-energy, with performers on the stage and in the aisles; and it will also be an opportunity for some parents to see their own children perform alongside some accomplished singers on the K-PAC stage.

Tickets for the April 25th show are available at Iowa State Savings Bank, and at the K-PAC box office that evening; tickets are at a special price — $10 for each adult, $5 per child with a limit of $30 per family. Flack says this special pricing is meant to encourage families to come out and enjoy the show.
