Tulips are beginning to show their colors in the city of Pella. Community Services Director Jeanette Vaughan says city staff planted more than 120,000 flowers in parks and in street beds throughout the community. She says if current weather stays near normal, flowers will be reaching peak bloom late this month into the Tulip Time celebration May 2nd to the 4th.
Vaughan says the city is maintaining a bloom status map for flowers throughout the community, including Pella Historical Society and other beds, at their website: http://www.cityofpella.com/tulips
