The Pella Christian girls soccer team is newly ranked, but fell to a 2018 state qualifier Thursday night.

The No. 13 Eagles fell 1-0 to No. 8 North Polk at Eagle Lane. Head Coach Mike Buchheit says both teams played excellent defense, but the Comets were able to find the lucky bounces they needed to net the game-winning score.

The Eagles boys fell 1-0 to North Polk on the road.

The Eagles return to action Tuesday at Indianola.
