This week is National Public Safety Telecommunicators week, where telecommunications personnel in the public safety community are honored for their work. Warren County 911 Director Doug McCasland tells KNIA News telecommunicators in the Warren County 911 office have had to deal with a move to a different building, new equipment from the state, and equipment breaking down, but they take it all in stride and continue to do their jobs.
“This year has been rather difficult for our dispatchers. They have done a phenomenal job of working through some of our technical issues we have been having. We have had some downtime because of equipment failures, but they have found ways to maintain contact with officers and emergency personnel during those processes, and they are doing a great job getting through this process.”
