Knoxville Hospital and Clinics plans to upgrade its Pleasantville clinic, and gave details on the upcoming work on Monday night.

During the Pleasantville City Council meeting, Knoxville Hospital and Clinics CEO Kevin Kincaid told council members they plan to modernize equipment and allow room for expansion of services. Federal authorities have given approval; final approval is still pending from state officials.

The Council also approved a project proposed by Boy Scout Troop 377 to build a small free will library on Pleasantville Square. A free will library is a box which allows citizens to freely deposit and withdraw books.

And the Council also approved the hiring of a new police officer.
