Nearly 60 sprint cars took hot laps last night at the Knoxville Raceway in anticipation for tonight’s 66th season opening night. Several of the weekly drivers were joined by invaders that decided to take their turns on the track. Dale Blaney, Parker Price-Miller, last year’s Rookie of the Nationals Gio Scelzi, and others were in action. Defending 410 Champion Austin McCarl tells KNIA Sports to him it is a new season and last year was last year. Unofficialy Kerry Madsen had the fastest 410 lap at 14.917, Calvin Landis had the fastest 360 lap at 15.979, and fastest Pro Sprints, formally 305 went to rookie Mike Johnston at 17.480.
