Construction workers have broken ground on a new gas station located on the Hy-Vee store property in Knoxville.

Work began Monday morning on a Hy-Vee branded gas station; it will be at the corner of Lincoln and Rock Island streets, on the southwest corner of the store’s lot.

The Knoxville City Council gave Hy-Vee clearance earlier this year to build one of its own gas stations on the property.

It will be directly across from the main entrance to the Knoxville Raceway.
