Tyler Vaske shot a one under 71 and was meet medalist at the North South Classic hosted by Centerville. The Panthers shot a team score of 343. Knoxville is back on the links on Thursday at the Moravia Invitational.
The Knoxville Girls Golf Squad finished third in a triangular yesterday with Dallas Center-Grimes and Newton. The Fillies won the event with a 178, Newton shot a 196 and Knoxville came in with a 240. Amy Sullivan carded a 48 to equal her low score of the season, and Faith Hatch had a 53. The Panthers host PCM on Monday.
Knoxville finished sixth in a virtual South Central Conference meet Tuesday at the Chariton Girls Relays. The Panthers scored 67 team points with Katie Keitges getting first in the 800, she was also third in the 1500. Knoxville took third in the 4×200 and 800. The Panthers head to Carlisle on Thursday. The Knoxville Boys Track and Field Squad placed ninth at the Carlisle Relays on Tuesday. The Panthers best relay finish was a fifth in the 1600 distance medley and the best individual finish was a sixth in the shot put by Alex Buckley. Coach Eric Kellar told KNIA/KRLS Sports they have more PRs and several guys who had been injured came back to perform. Knoxville heads to the PCM meet which will be held at Saydel on Thursday.
The Knoxville Boys Soccer Squad stopped a two game losing streak with a 3-1 victory over Albia last night. The Panthers got a two goal performance from Elliott Schmidt coming back for the injured list, Dom Avon got the other Panther tally. Wyatt Darnell had seven saves. The Panthers are 6-2 on the season and 4-0 in the South Central Conference. Knoxville travels to Grinnell on Friday.
The Knoxville Girls Soccer Squad claimed a win over a fellow South Central Conference foe and did it in impressive fashion in an 8-0 shellacking over Centerville. Emma DeJoode had a hat trick plus one with four goals. Also scoring for the Panthers were Kelsey Ryan, Amber Vander Veer, Hailey Turner and Melody Torres. Dakota Watson had a clean sheet in goal. Knoxville is now 5-3 on the season and 2-0 in the conference.
