Picking up a much needed American Rivers Conference win, the Simpson Storm softball team split their two game series with Coe on their home field. The Kohawks won in dominant fashion in game one 14-1, with the Storm getting their only run on a Camry Leo home run, and Emily Bell taking the loss in the circle. Game two was a much different story, as Coe took an early lead in the 1st inning off of a bunt, but the Storm fought back scoring two in the bottom half the inning and adding another in the second. Emily Schilke was near unhittable in the circle, giving up only five hits and earning the victory. Despite the upset split, the Storm remain on the outside looking in for the postseason tournament, as Dubuque swept first place Luther. Simpson is tied with the Spartans for the final spot in the ARC tournament, and play 4-10 Buena Vista this Saturday to determine their fate.
