The Knoxville Boys Golf Squad won a triangular at Pine Knolls Country Club over PCM and Chariton on Friday. The Panthers scored a team total of 156, six shots better than the second place Mustangs and Chariton came in with a 195. Knoxville’s Tyler Vaske was meet medalist with a 34. Cade McDonald completed the Panther sweep of medalist honors with his runner up effort of 37. PCM was led by Andrew Van Rys Wyk carding a 39.
The Knoxville Boys Tennis Squad took out Chariton on Friday at the Joel Tonda Tennis Courts 6-3. Knoxville got singles wins from Gabe Matthais, R.J. Roberts, Carter Short, and Jaxon Zuck. The Panthers won two of the three doubles match ups. Coach Greg Higginbotham tells KRLS Sports the middle of his line up is getting better at the perfect time of the season. The Panthers hope the weather holds for a trip at Atlantic for an invitational, a meet that Knoxville has done well in over the years.
The Knoxville Girls Soccer Squad blanked Grinnell last night 2-0. Emma DeJoode and Melody Torres got tallies for Knoxville while Abby Wadle had a shut out in goal. Knoxville is now 6-3 on the season and have won its fifth straight match. The boys were not as fortunate against the Tigers falling 3-1. Matt Brown got Knoxville’s only goal of the night and Wyatt Darnell made three saves.
