The Simpson Storm split their doubleheader with Buena Vista Sunday afternoon, but the effort was just enough to put the Storm in 6th place in the conference standings and qualify for the postseason tournament. The Storm took down the Beavers in game 1 6-2, hitting four home runs in the contest as Megan Crockett and Sarah Trent went yard, while Ashley Allen hit a pair out of the park. Game two was close throughout until the final innings as Simpson fell 7-3. The Storm fell behind 3-1 going into the 5th and scored a pair of runs to tie it at 3, before giving up a pair of runs in each of the next two innings to secure the loss. The Storm end the conference season at at 7-9 and 20-18 overall, and will play 3rd seeded Wartburg on Friday.
