
Two Indianola High School spring sports teams were in action Monday, as the weather cooperated enough to get girls golf and boys tennis on the course and court.
The girls golf squad fell in to Little Hawkeye Conference rival Pella by just three strokes on their home course 200-203. Top golfer for the Indians included Maddie Hayes with a 47, Macy Grimsrud with a 50, Jaiden Wallander with a 53, and Anna Marvelli with a 53. The Indians will next golf on Thursday at Ottumwa.
The Indianola boys tennis squad took down Knoxville 10-1 at Indianola High School. The Indians swept the singles play, with Bradyn Upchurch, Colton Miller, Christian Jauron, Ian Smith, Matthew Beals, and Joe Menke all winning. In doubles play, Knoxville won at #1 doubles with the team of RJ Roberts, and Gabe Matthias winning 6-3, 7-6, while the Indians teams of Beals and Menke, Matt and Curran Wadle, Upchurch and Jake Brend, and James Howard and Tom Krapfl were all victorious.
