The Knoxville Public Library continues its Lifelong Learning Series this week, with a presentation on state capitals by a writer who has spent over two decades researching them.
“A History of State Capitols” by author Richard Gibson breaks down the history of each state’s legislative building, along with information on Governor’s mansions and other state historic buildings.
Heather Libby is the Adult Services librarian at the Knoxville Public Library; she tells KNIA/KRLS News this will not only be educational but fun, for those who like entering trivia contests and those planning to travel this summer.
“And I know a lot of people are planning their summer vacations right now; and so this might give you some ideas as you’re traveling around the Midwest and further about not to miss sights along the way,” Libby says.
This presentation will be held on Thursday night from 6:15 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the library’s temporary home inside the former East Elementary School.
