The Melcher-Dallas Track and Field Squads will head to Graceland College in Lamoni for the Bluegrass Conference Track and Field Championships. As we have told you all season long, girls distance runner J’Lyn Knutson has been next to untouchable in the 1500 and 3000 races. Coach Amy Stuart tells KNIA Sports she has been telling Knutson to not overthink her races, even resorting to singing songs in her head. Knutson is the overwhelming favorite to win both of the open distance races. If you throw in the times from the Saints State Qualifying Meet site at Central Decatur, she is still a heavy favorite with a near two minute advantage on the second seed in the 3000 and and 18 second advantage in the 1500. The Bluegrass Conference Meet starts today at four.
