The Simpson College Athletic Department held their annual awards show Sunday evening, honoring the student athletes for their work in athletics and the classroom. Awards were given out to student-athletes such as comeback player of the year, female and male athletes of the year, male and female new athletes of the year, best play, record breaking performances, and the Joe Blake Community Service Award among others. Male Athlete of the Year – Michael Connor (Football)
Male Newcomer of the Year – Barak Ellie (Soccer)
Female Newcomer of the Year – Amron Born (Softball)
Record Breaking Performance – Women’s Basketball making 288 3pt shots
Play of the Year – Football overtime winner at Wartburg
Team of the Year – Simpson Football Team (7-3 overall, 6-3 conference record)
