Fire broke out at a home in Harvey on Wednesday afternoon, and was quickly brought under control by the homeowner using a home fire extinguisher.
Knoxville Township firefighters were called to the home at around 2 o’clock p.m. It was an electrical fire, and the homeowner was able to control it before they arrived on the scene. Fire personnel did check the home for any remaining hot spots or other damage.
No injuries are reported, and no damage estimate has been issued; firefighters on the scene stress the importance of having a home fire extinguisher, and not having one one in this case could have led to more significant damage. Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies also responded to the scene.
