Preparations continue for the annual Indianola Fire Department Pancake Breakfast coming next Saturday, serving as one of the biggest fundraiser events of the year. Firefighter Bob Soukup tells KNIA News these events are some of the brightest parts of the job.

“We love doing this. We do an open house every October to go along with this breakfast. Everyone in the department loves interacting with the public, we love the questions, and especially meeting the kids. We can’t get enough of them having their eyes light up meeting us, or seeing the big red truck, that’s just incredible.”

The breakfast is free, but free will offerings will be taken. The breakfast runs from 7-11am on Saturday, May 11th, with the public invited to attend.
