Henrietta Veldhuizen is the 2019 Tulip Time Service Award winner. Henrietta began working at Pella Historical almost 30 years ago as a house cleaner. In the years that she has been with the group, she’s also completed Christmas decorating, kept Dutch dancers costumed, served volunteers at Tulip Time, and acting as Pella Historical Society’s public relations person. Cyndi Atkins with the Tulip Time Steering committee says she also serves as a “Walking Dictionary” of how things have been done in the past, where things are stored, and why something was done the way it is.
