The Indianola girls golf team finished in 4th place in the Little Hawkeye Conference meet at Warrior Run Golf Course in Norwalk Tuesday morning with a team score of 373. Leading the way for the Indians was Anna Marvelli with a 5th place finish with an 89, Jaiden Wallander in 9th shooting a 93, and Maddie Hayes placed 10th carding a 94. All three were named to the All-Conference team for the meet. Next up for the Indians is a meet tomorrow at Southeast Polk.
The Indianols boys soccer team found offense late in a 3-0 victory over Little Hawkeye Conference rival Oskaloosa. Neither team scored in the first half, but a handball in the box by Osky sent Peyton Boozell to the penalty area where he converted for the first goal of the evening, then two minutes later Andreas Miller headed in a goal off a corner kick to put Indianola up for good. Chandler Lowry added another long distance goal in the 80th minute. The Indians have now won three in a row, and sit at 4-9 overall.
The girls soccer team also picked up a 3-0 win over their Indians counterpart in conference play. Picking up goals for Indianola in the shutout victory was Mara Cosenza, Abby Jensen, and Megan Howard. The squad has won 3 of their last 4, and are 4-7 overall.
