While the Melcher-Dallas Boys Track and Field Squad likely is not a contender to bring home a trophy or banner from the state qualifying meet on Thursday from Central Decatur, that does not mean the Saints can contend for several events to make the state meet. Coach Bart Elliott tells KNIA Sports the focus for his teams is to get the best guys in their top events so they have a chance to run on the Blue Oval. Elliott is also looking for runners and throwers to show him something for next season. He adds planning for the 2020 season will get underway on Thursday observing a lot of the underclassmen to will compete.
