The Pella City Council approved a plat for a new subdivision at their meeting Tuesday evening. A pair of resolutions were approved for the Genlink project at 2110 Idaho Drive. The project would be the next step in a proposed $5 million conference center for private use. Council also waived a review for the Dakota Ridge Subdivision in the city’s two mile zoning jurisdiction outside of the corporation limits. Ahead of a planned joint session with the Planning and Zoning Commission, the council talked about a potential entertainment district on the west side of Oskaloosa Street and other development strategies for the road from Main Street to Eagle Lane at policy and planning. Council also discussed proposed infrastructure improvements in the Central Business District, including a delay of the scheduled Oost Poort alleyway reconstruction and potential projects to be completed over the next three years, especially as it relates to Franklin Street going forward. No formal action was taken on these items.
