Installation of fiber internet by Indianola Municipal Utilities is continuing throughout the summer season, and plans to expand to businesses and residents for the next several months. IMU General Manager Tom Gaffigan tells KNIA News the installs have increased just in the last several months

“We’ve done 463 drops since March 25th, and a drop is the conduit for the main line in the street to a house. We’ve done 819 overall installs over the last 12 months or so, so we’re doing really good. We think we are going to hit 1500-1600 by the end of the year, completely done installs. Part of what we are doing now is converting over MCG customers, converting them over to our fiber, they can go with a different provider if they wish, but otherwise we are going to be including them.”
