The Pella City Council received details about future downtown infrastructure projects at policy and planning following their regular meeting Tuesday. City Administrator Mike Nardini says the discussion detailed some of the core needs as it relates to sewer, storm sewer, and water mains downtown, many of which are more than a century old. Nardini says the nearly $1 million Oost Poort alley project scheduled this summer has been broken up over the next two years instead, with conflicts concerning local businesses and unclear direction about some aspects of downtown planning considered.
