The Indianola girls golf team came in 8th place at the Southeast Polk Invitational Thursday, shooting a team score of 399. Olivia McKelvey led the squad with a 86, Maddie Hayes carded a 98, Jaiden Wallander shot a 101, and Anna Marvelli ended with a 104. The Indians will next golf on May 20th in their regional competition at Willow Creek Golf Course.
The boys soccer team took down Ottumwa 3-2 outside of Little Hawkeye Conference play, with the game going all the way to penalty kicks before being decided. The Indians were tied with the Bulldogs at the halftime break 2-2, with Peyton Boozell scoring both goals, with neither team finding the net in half two or the overtime period. In the penalty kicks, Indianola won 3-2 to claim the victory. The win is the 4th in a row for the Indians, who have found their groove and sit at 5-9 overall. They will next play Monday at Gilbert.
The boys and girls track and field qualifiers will be today at Johnston, after getting postponed by weather yesterday.
