The Indianola Fire Department, in partnership with the Indianola Noon Lions Club, is hosting a pancake breakfast fundraiser today, serving as one of the main fundraising events of the year. Firefighter Bob Soukup tells KNIA News meeting the public–especially kids, of the area they serve is one of the biggest highlights of their job. Soukup also said the breakfast goes on rain or shine, and one of his fondest memories of the breakfast is just last year.
“Last year was raining, it was miserable, it was cold, and we didn’t think anybody wanted to be out. But the rain forced some youth baseball teams to have their games get canceled, and they showed up at our breakfast and it turned into one of the best we’ve ever had because we found a way to turn around their morning and it was one of our busiest ever.”
The breakfast is free, but free will offerings will be taken. The breakfast runs from 7-11am.
