The Pella Christian girls tennis team advanced in the Class 1A regional playoffs, knocking off Little Hawkeye Conference foes Grinnell and Norwalk. The Eagles take on Ballard on Saturday, May 18th, with the winner advancing to state. Singles and doubles players from Pella Christian will join players from Pella, Knoxville, and the surrounding area in the individual state qualifying tournament Wednesday at Caldwell Park and Eagle Lane.

Pella Christian’s No. 11 girls soccer team split at the North Polk invitational Saturday, falling 3-0 to the host and No. 7 ranked Comets and winning 1-0 over Collins Maxwell. The Eagles allowed three goals in the first 11 minutes of the tournament, but rebounded to keep North Polk out for the rest of the contest. In game two, the Eagles couldn’t find the net until a PK shootout, with Lindsay Breon, Annika Terpstra, Sydney Hooyer, and Tessa Brouwer making theirs to give P.C. the win. The Eagles snapped a three game skid with the victory in the afternoon, and turn around to host Ballard Monday.

The Pella Christian boys host their home invitational Monday at Bos Landen Golf Club. Local teams Pella and PCM join a field of others from around central Iowa in the final regular season meet of 2019.
