Pella Ambulance hosted an open house for the community Saturday. Director Greg Higginbotham says several visitors stopped into their location on Main Street to learn more about their life-saving service.
“It’s a big deal, because residents can put a face with the ambulance when it shows up now, and we’ve had 17 brand-new people in the last year, so there’s a lot of new faces here that community members aren’t used to associating with the ambulance, so it’s been good that they came to see us and we can see them and just interact in that way,” he says.
Additionally, funds were raised with a free-will offering meal to provide automatic lifting cots. The Pella Police Department also hosted the What You Don’t See Trailer from the Iowa Narcotics Officers Association.
