The state track and field meet begins today at Drake University, and Knoxville has qualified athletes in seven events.  

Abbey Jackson will represent the Panthers on the girls side in the 100, 200 and 400 meter events; and Katie Keitges will run in the 800 and 1500. For the boys, Kieren Nichols qualified in the 400 and Alex Buckley for the shot put.

Melcher-Dallas qualified for state in six events.  J’Lyn Knutson qualified in the 1500 and 3000, as did Grace Overgaard in the shot put; and on the boys side Emery Sage in the 1600, Ethan Harrington in the high jump and the 4×800 relay team.
