The first of five Indianola Bike Nights of 2019 takes place tonight on the downtown Indianola square. Indianola Bike Night is now in its 15th year, and traditionally draws 6,000-10,000 people each night. Barbara Bendon and Randy Gathers are organizers of Indianola Bike Night, and Bendon tells KNIA News Bike Night is good for Indianola because it brings in not just local and Iowa residents, but draws crowds from across the midwest.
“I think it’s a great benefit to Indianola and Warren County. We bring in a lot of consumers that might not normally be here on a Friday night. It helps businesses and it helps raise revenue. We try to keep it a family fun event, we have a bouncy house for kids and other activities. So families in the community come out, but just about anybody and everybody is welcome for Indianola Bike Night.”
Bike Night runs from 6-10pm this evening, with musical entertainment provided by Richard Arndt & The Brew and emceed by City Council member Bob Kling. For more information on Indianola Bike Night, tune in to today’s Let’s Talk Indianola.
