The annual Indianola High School Scholarship Awards night is next Thursday evening, where students will be awarded with local scholarships. Guidance Counselor Kyla Bandstra tells KNIA News many of the students began searching for scholarships at the beginning of the year, and it marks a big change in the graduating seniors lives.

“This is a big night, and i’m sure students are really trying to get all of the help they can for college and post-secondary accomplishments and education. They are all hopeful that they are going to be awarded something, and it’s also just a night to celebrate their accomplishments. We do a cord night to mark their GPA accomplishments, so it’s really a celebration of all of high school and it coming to an end.”

The awards night begins at 6:30pm in the Indianola High School Auditorium. KNIA/KRLS Radio will be giving away a scholarship to an Indianola student interested in furthering their education in communications or broadcasting.
