Pella traveled to Perry in the heat to play their final regular season game of 2019. Fans were treated to an exciting 40 minutes of play in the Varsity match, according to head coach Mark Solomon. Perry scored quickly in the 4th minute, taking advantage of some defensive coverage errors by Pella. But the Dutch fought back, starting with a turnover forced by Denzel Poulter, and he finished it in the back of the net. Pella then saw a goal minutes later by Jared Bruxvoort after the ball bounced around multiple times inside the Perry 18′ box. Finally, Levi Dugger provided a cross that Ben Nelson connected with perfectly, scoring and bringing it to 3-1 just seconds before halftime. Severe weather moved into the area during the break, and the game was called. Pella finishes the regular season 8-8 and awaits the winner of Fairfield and Oskaloosa on May 22nd.
