Chances for storms today will also mean an increased risk for severe weather in south central Iowa. A slight chance exists throughout most of Iowa. Conditions are favorable for the development of strong thunderstorms producing heavy rain, large hail, and damaging winds, especially in the afternoon and evening. Flash flooding is also a possibility, especially in areas that have seen excessive rainfall since Thursday evening.
